Imaging

The Toshiba Aquilion 16 CT scanner is designed with a large aperture, a slip-ring gantry and an extra-wide couch for maximum patient comfort. The Aquilion 16 is a whole body CT scanner that provides excellent image quality and performance. It is equipped with a quantum detector that will provide images with true isotropic resolution in a small field of view with 0.5mm which is the industry’s thinnest slice width for maximum detection of suspicious tissue. When using this scanner to perform an exam, we are able to scan in one plane which reduces radiation exposure to our patients.

HDR Brachytherapy (Internal Radiation Therapy)

High-dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy involves placing a protected source of high energy radiation directly within the tumor and using specially designed applicators, such as radioactive plaques, needles, tubes, wires, or small "seeds" made of radionuclides. We often use HDR brachytherapy to treat superficial skin cancers and other tumors in body cavities such as nose, pharynx, vagina, etc.
